Eve Herbick resides on Seabrook Island, South Carolina, near Charleston. When Eve is asked what subject she likes to paint, she responds with "where my heart leads me at the moment". Painting from her heart, you can see the passion and warmth in every subject she paints,. She loves color and strives to find the many colors in the subject that may not be obvious to the casual observer.
Even though she had musical arts talent, having been a professional singer and entertainer and working at a radio station, she did not start painting until 2002. After her radio and singing career, she received her MBA from Northwestern University and had a professional business career with Abbott Laboratories for twenty-nine years.
Eve's brother was an artist and instructor in New England and died of cancer in 2001. While spending time with him during his last days, his passion for art somehow transferred to Eve. Upon his passing, "it was like a minister getting the calling", she knew she had to become an artist.
After painting in watercolor for two years with Bernadette Cali, she began instruction with Bill Jamison and switched to oils. Eve has attended workshops and received instruction from many prominent artists such as Mary Whyte, George Strickland, Ken Baccus, John Budicin, John Seerey-Lester, Kim English, Jim Darlington, Rhett Thurman, Martin Ahrens and John Carroll Doyle.
